Cranky, irritable, or snappy? If your attitude stinks lately it may be time for an attitude adjustment. A bad attitude affects everyone around you. For me, a change in attitude comes by being thankful. Just take a moment to realize all the good things in your life. My life is W-O-N-D-E-R-F-U-L, even with all the junk that sometimes threatens to choke me.
My pastor's sermon text this past Sunday was in Philippians 4. Philippians is one of my faves and probably the most "marked up" book in my Bible. I've studied it quite a bit. But, as one of my friends says (a lot), "Repetition is the key to learning." And he's right. One thing I realized during the sermon Sunday was how joyful Paul was in spite of being in prison for preaching the gospel. If Paul can be filled with joy as a prisoner, I surely can handle my situation with joy.
How's your attitude? Are you of the Limburger persuasion? Make a list of all the things you are thankful for and you will find that things are probably not as bad as they seem.
The glorious news is you and I are works in progress! Maybe someday we will be where Paul was when he said, "Not that I speak from want, for I have learned to be content in whatever circumstances I am. I know how to get along with humble means, and I also know how to live in prosperity; in any and every circumstance I have learned the secret of being filled and going hungry, both of having abundance and suffering need. I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me." Philippians 4:11-13
